Since March 2011, Günter Weinrauch holds the position of CIO at ADAC, the leading automobile club in Germany with about 19 Million members. At ADAC, Günter Weinrauch is responsible for the IT and communications infrastructure, with direct responsibility for an annual IT-budget of about € 70 Mio. and 400 internal and external staff members. His special focus lies on the enhanced strategic positioning of the IT- department within the ADAC group, the improvement of the IT service delivery processes according to Industry Best Practices, and the optimization of the IT-landscape.
From 2005 until 2009, Günter Weinrauch worked as CIO at Premiere AG (now Sky Deutschland), the leading Pay-TV operator in Germany and Austria. At Premiere, he planned and executed the outsourcing of all operational IT-functions, combined with a system stabilization and optimization of the IT processes. He also reorganized the IT towards ITIL and SOA and managed the replacement of the CRM & Billing legacy systems.
Günter Weinrauch worked also for 6 years as a strategic management consultant; 4,5 years for Arthur D. Little, Inc and 1,5 years as an independent IT Management Consultant and Interim IT-Manager. There he focused mainly on IT Strategy, Change and Project Management and IT-Sourcing. Before that, he managed for 7 years international IT implementation projects in the telecommunication industry for the IT-consultancy American Management Systems (now CGI).
Günter Weinrauch has an engineering degree from Fachhochschule München, Germany and an MBA from University of Maryland, College Park, USA. For his achievements, Günter Weinrauch received among others the award „CIO of the year“ in Germany in 2006, 2008 (both times 2nd place, Mittelstand) and 2013 (Top 10, large corporations). He also has been a finalist for the IT-Handelsblatt Strategy Award 2008 and 2009; a title he received in 2014 with the ADAC IT-organization.
