Matteo Veneziani is Information Technology Director at Expo 2015 since 2009.
He was born in Bergamo in 1966; he is a graduate in Electronic Engineering at Politecnico of Milan (1991).
He started his career in Andersen Consulting in 1991. After a few years he joined Olivetti where he was in charge of organization, processes and information systems in the Finance department of the Group.
In 1996 he covered a new role as Managing Director Assistant and Planning Manager at FIV Bianchi Bicycles. In 1997 he came back to Accenture and he acted as Service Manager in several Shared Services Projects.
From 2000 to 2003 he worked for Bain, Cuneo e Associati (now Bain & Co.) and he was engaged in several projects as consultant (re-organizations, merge & acquisitions, companies turnaround).
In 2003 he joined AEM where he designed, implemented and managed the Administrative Shared Services Centre of the Group and realized several project in process reengineering.
In 2006 he became Director of Information Systems of Lombardini Group (major Italian retail company) where he managed the re-organization of the IT department and some important projects (Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity, renewal of point of sales systems, IT strategic plan).
In Expo, Matteo Veneziani planned, designed implemented both the IT department (IT strategy and governance, IT organization, IT processes, IT business plan and reporting) and the IT systems (enterprise architecture, ERP, Protocollo di Legalità, Participant Management System, BI,…). In 2012, he won the CIONET Italia Award in the category Strategy-Driven CIO.
