Benedetto Conversano has been the architect of the digital transformation at IKEA. He joined IKEA in 2010, when the word “e-commerce” was a taboo, and he built – under the sponsorship of CEO Mikael Ohlsson – the transformation adventure to make IKEA bloom in the e-commerce business.
Before 2010, Benedetto worked 15 years at the consumer good giant Procter & Gamble, where he learned – with the coaching of CIO Filippo Passerini – how to build an IT organization which transforms the business and becomes a contributor to market leadership. He built one of the first “big-data” system which enabled P&G back in 2002 to report accurate financial informations to Wall-Street faster than ever.
Since 2015, Benedetto is the Group Chief Information Officer at Jeronimo Martins (a 16 billion euro business which operates in food retail in Europe and Latin America), where he leads another digital transformation. His new retail customer digital app hit the record number of downloads in Portugal within one month from the launch.
Benedetto is enrolled as public speaker at the London Speaker Bureau. He does not leave anyone in the audience the chance to stand back and refuge in his/her own thoughts. He does not deliver just another speech to forget: he engages the audience in a creative debate which emanates a constructive and liberating energy. He is vibrating, provoking, inspiring.
