Paolo Daperno graduated in Economics at Bocconi University. He is 45, single and he likes skiing and sailing. Since beginning 2008, he is CIO and Business Process Director in illycaffè.
After a short period spent as a researcher, he started his work experience in the business process organization and IT world in Arthur Andersen in 1994 as a consultant. From 1999 to 2007, he worked in the IT Department of Bacardi Group holding positions of responsibility at the corporate level and in Italy as IT Manager of Martini & Rossi.
In illycaffè he has been heavily involved in the digital strategy and governance with reference to both internet/social media and to the e-commerce development and its integration into the business processes.
He promotes the knowledge of consumers and customers through the innovative use of IT and digital evolution. IT plays also a critical role to increase efficiency and operational effectiveness of illy in the world.
In addition to his role in illycaffè, since 2011, he is professor for the master in IT Strategy at “Scuola di Amministrazione Aziendale” in Torino where he teaches alignment between business and IT strategy.
